I wanted to make sure my improvements were sustained before I wrote a blog about the results. Given I was the first person with MS at Hope Biosciences to have the treatment both via IV and intrathecally, we had no idea what would happen. WOW it’s been a game changer!

In December at Hope Biosciences, I had 100 million of my MSC’s given via IV and the another 100 million given via intrathecal injection at the hospital. They went directly into the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), which surround the brain and spinal cord for a more targeted treatment of neurological damage from the MS lesions. Approximately two months after my treatment I noticed a real shift which continues in my body. In between the usual up/down days of MS, overall I had more energy, I was able to stand/walk longer, drive longer, think more clearly and had a noticeable comeback of my pre-MS personality (maybe that’s not always good, haha!). My bladder/bowel are slightly better. People are still commenting on how I ‘look stronger’ compared to the fall. I think back to years past where I had to be carried even 20 steps, driven everywhere, and be pushed by wheelchair. Now at times, I can park MY car and walk a short distance into a store with/without a walker. It is a MIND BLOWING feeling of independence.
My biggest challenges are still consistent lack of walking endurance past 40-50 steps, temperature control, horrible sensations/pain inside my body (although less), and use of hands for such things as preparing food.
People have questioned whether these improvements are due to HSCT. Things plateaued in the fall, then spiked post MSC; it was pretty obvious. I was desperate for more recovery given the extent of my disabilities and took a big risk. So far it’s been the best decision. I’ll continue sharing results in the coming months, both up/down. I can’t say this will help others, but it shows huge promise. We all want our lives back, or even a tiny bit of something back.
In most of the clinical trials I’ve read, they have administered 3-6 treatments dosed over various intervals. So far I’ve had one and I would like at least 1-2 more. It’s very expensive though and it’s illegal to crowdfund under the Right To Try legislation.
My heart goes out to all the incredibly kind and caring staff at Hope Biosciences, especially Sherry Diers. Hope Biosciences doesn’t have to grant access via the RTT, but they did. Thank you, thank you, thank you ❤️

MSC’s: Mesenchymal Stem Cells also known as, medicinal signalling cells, are a type of adult stem cell found in bone marrow, adipose tissue, umbilical and other tissues. These cells have the ability differentiate into various cell types, such as bone, neural, cartilage, and fat cells. Additionally, MSCs can regulate the immune system and reduce inflammation. They also have the ability to secrete a variety of bioactive molecules, including growth factors, cytokines, and extracellular vesicles. These molecules have been shown to have regenerative effects on damaged tissues (ie. neurological).
